- Standard CSCS application: £36. Apprentice cards are free. View source
- CITB standard HS&E test booking: £23.50, before applicable extras. April 2026 terms supersede the old £22.50 figure. View source
- A first Labourer card lasts two years. It needs an accepted qualification and the appropriate test. Renewal rules differ; it is not a skilled-worker card. View source
- SSSTS is a two-day supervisor course. Certification lasts five years; complete a refresher before expiry. View source
- SMSTS is a five-day site-management course. Certification lasts five years; complete a refresher before expiry. View source
- ECS applications need the qualifications and health-and-safety requirements for the specific card. A CITB test pass alone does not establish ECS eligibility. View source
- JIB administers ECS in England, Wales and Northern Ireland; SJIB administers it in Scotland. View source
- From 1 April 2026 the apprentice minimum is £8 an hour for under-19s or those aged 19+ in year one. After year one, apprentices aged 19+ get the age-based minimum: £10.85 at 19-20, £12.71 at 21+. View source
- ECS does not accept the CITB test as its HS&E assessment. A pass gives two years to apply; it is not the card expiry. Exemptions are card-specific. View source
- Installation Electrician Gold route requires recognised Level 3 competence, current ECS safety evidence and recognised BS7671:2018 qualification; a short course alone is not eligibility. View source

- IET/BSI published Amendment 4 on 15 April 2026, within the 18th Edition; the previous version has a six-month transition. View source
- ECS identifies the Level 3 BS7671:2018 award and describes classroom, self-study and assessment-only options. Provider access varies; course completion alone is not the qualification. View source
- CPCS Red requires the relevant safety, theory and practical tests; CPCS theory/practical tests use an approved centre. View source
- CPCS Blue Competent Operator card has a renewable five-year life, for the relevant plant type. This does not establish employer acceptance. View source
- CPCS Blue eligibility includes the VQ for the category and the relevant safety, theory and practical assessments. View source
- NPORS/CSCS Red construction route issues a two-year trained card while relevant qualification units are achieved; application and extension conditions are separate. View source
- NPORS/CSCS Blue route requires the relevant NVQ/SVQ units and provides a five-year competent card. View source
