Trade apprenticeship advert template

Use this template to prepare a paid apprenticeship advert with the employer. Replace every bracketed field with confirmed details and remove anything that does not apply.

It is a writing aid, not a vacancy or a promise of applicants. Keep an unfinished template as a draft.

Before you share the advert

Separate the provider from the employer. Make clear who is offering the paid job and who is advertising or delivering training. UK Trade Jobs records these separately.

Use the exact pay information. Include its period and any conditions the employer has stated. Do not turn an hourly figure into an annual salary unless the employer has confirmed the hours and calculation.

Describe this role. For a site-based vacancy, check the reporting point and travel. For workshop work, ask about shifts. For building-services work, describe the actual setting and duties. These are prompts for the employer, not facts to assume.

Check the application link and dates. Open the destination on a phone, confirm that it is the right vacancy and agree who will close the listing if recruitment ends early.

CITB’s construction recruitment guidance includes an advert checklist covering the training, location, employer, dates, wage, duties and entry criteria. Confirm the details for the specific apprenticeship rather than copying another employer’s advert. Read CITB’s advert guidance.

Submitting to UK Trade Jobs

Your provider profile must be approved before you can submit a vacancy. You will also need a public source confirming the job and the employer’s permission to advertise it. Standard provider apprenticeship adverts are free, and each advert and later edit is reviewed before publication.

Course intakes and expressions of interest belong on your provider profile. Use the vacancy form for a genuine paid apprenticeship.
