ScottishPower Apprenticeships: Routes and Applications

ScottishPower is preparing its 2027 apprenticeship intake. A separate Trainee Craftsperson route is advertised for people with relevant practical experience. Choose the route that fits your experience, then check its location and requirements.

UK Trade Jobs is independent of ScottishPower. Applications go to the employer; this guide does not reserve a place.

What is confirmed now?

Checked 25 October 2026: the apprenticeship hub offers interest registration for 2027. The separate Trainee Craftsperson advert gives a closing date of 15 November 2026. The employer may close it earlier. That trainee opportunity is separate from the next craft apprenticeship intake.ScottishPower: apprenticeship programme hub · ScottishPower: current Trainee Craftsperson advert

Craft apprenticeship: learning the trade

The programme overview includes cable jointers, overhead linespeople and electrical fitters. Scottish craft routes use a different qualification system from England and Wales. Wait for the 2027 advert to confirm its grades, training, pay and location; the closed 2026 terms are not a new offer.ScottishPower: craft routes and locations · ScottishPower: Scotland craft page (closed 2026 intake) · ScottishPower: England and Wales craft page (closed 2026 intake)

Trainee Craftsperson: bringing practical experience

Higher skills and degree routes

The higher-skills hub groups routes such as renewables maintenance, project management and power engineering. Degree and graduate apprenticeships have a separate page. UKTJ’s preparation checklist

  • Decide whether you are starting from school or college, or can show relevant practical work experience. Use examples of work you actually did.
  • List your qualifications as awarded. If you have older or overseas qualifications, ask how they match the chosen route’s requirements instead of guessing an equivalent grade.
  • Check the work base, shifts, outdoor duties, travel and time away for training. Ask which travel and accommodation costs are covered.
  • For an experienced-worker application, explain the equipment, tools and safe working practices you have used, and what you want to learn next.
