Balfour Beatty Apprenticeships: Routes and Applications
Choose the job and qualification before choosing an apprenticeship level. Balfour Beatty had 2027 adverts for civil engineering in Aberdeen and quality work in Derby when checked. Neither advert supplied a salary figure or closing date.
UK Trade Jobs is independent of Balfour Beatty. Applications go to the employer; this guide does not reserve a place.
What is confirmed now?
Checked 25 October 2026: the Aberdeen Graduate Apprentice Civil Engineer and Derby Level 4 Quality Apprentice adverts were readable with application links. These are two location-specific examples, not a promise of a place near you. - Application dates
- Both examples name the 2027 intake, without an exact deadline. The early-careers page says further opportunities will be released during recruitment. Choose the right route
Trade, technical or business apprenticeships
Balfour Beatty lists routes from intermediate and advanced apprenticeships to higher and degree study. Examples cover site trades, engineering, construction management and business work. A programme category does not mean a vacancy is currently open; compare the actual duties and qualification.Balfour Beatty: apprenticeship routes and levels
Aberdeen: graduate apprenticeship in civil engineering
Advert EC01677 combines work in North East Scotland with university day release towards a BEng (Hons). It asks for four SQA Highers at BBBC, including maths; Applications of Maths is excluded. Here, “graduate apprenticeship” means studying towards a degree while working, rather than a graduate job requiring a completed degree.Balfour Beatty: Aberdeen civil engineering advert EC01677
Derby: Level 4 Quality Apprentice
Advert EC01694 describes an office role with Quality Practitioner study through JCTraining, mainly taught remotely. It typically asks for two A-levels or equivalents. This is a different route from a hands-on trade apprenticeship; check whether the work matches what you want to learn.Balfour Beatty: Derby quality advert EC01694

UKTJ’s preparation checklist
- Compare two adverts by day-to-day work, qualification, work base and training location. A familiar employer name is not enough to choose the right role.
- Keep the advert reference and a copy of its entry requirements. List your actual or predicted grades accurately and ask about equivalence where needed.
- Prepare examples showing how you check details, work with others and learn from a mistake. Use your own experience rather than a model answer.
- Ask about salary, working hours, travel and training costs where the advert leaves them unclear. Check these before committing to a move.
